Melbourne Royal Australian International Beer Awards 2025 - Boundary Island Brewery Takes Home Prestigious Trophy & Consistency of Excellence

The world's finest beers have been meticulously tasted and judged at the prestigious 2025 Australian International Beer Awards. The awards ceremony was held on 15^th May 2025 at Melbourne Showgrounds, where local brewer Boundary Island Brewery elevated their success by winning a Trophy and Consistency of Excellence Award alongside multiple gold medals, highlighting the exceptional talent of Boundary Island Brewery's Head Brewer, Dylan Kelly.

These awards set the benchmark for excellence in the brewing industry. This year, the Australian International Beer Awards attracted more than 2300 entries from around the globe, with a rigorous judging process and a panel of 75 esteemed judges from around the world.

Boundary Island Brewery’s achievements came with The Deckie IPA winning the coveted trophy for Best Traditional India Pale Ale. The brewery also received the distinguished "Consistency of Excellence" award for their beloved Estuary Ale XPA, recognising their continued mastery in crafting exceptional beers, with the beer winning gold for the third year running.

The full medal haul was truly impressive, with Boundary Island securing an outstanding 13 medals across their range:

Head Brewer, Dylan Kelly said, "Winning a trophy for The Deckie IPA is a massive achievement.  Pretty much every brewery has an IPA in its core range, so it’s a hugely competitive category and I’m stoked to take home the Trophy.  We’ve been refining this beer since our early days and I’m super happy with where it is at.  I’m also extremely proud of the Estuary XPA.  I was happy with this beer from the very beginning, so receiving a gold medal every year and being recognised for this consistency is so great.”
